Use one logical Vorbis stream in an .ogg file, mono or stereo at 8–48 kHz. Opus, chained and multiplexed streams are not supported. Tags and chapters are omitted. The decoder samples are reduced to signed 16-bit precision with your consent. WAV preserves those inspected samples and adds no new lossy encoding, but cannot restore detail lost in Vorbis encoding.

Which Ogg audio files can I convert?

Use an .ogg file containing one logical Vorbis audio stream, mono or stereo at 8–48 kHz. Opus, chained streams and multiplexed streams are rejected. Inspection checks the actual format rather than relying on the filename; current limits appear above.

Does WAV improve the original sound quality?

No. Vorbis is already lossy. This WAV preserves the inspected canonical signed 16-bit decoded samples and does not add another lossy audio encoding, but cannot restore detail removed by Vorbis encoding or retain the decoder’s original floating-point precision.

Which choices do I need to review?

Tags and chapters are omitted, and the decoded samples are reduced to signed 16-bit precision. Review and confirm metadata removal and the required precision reduction before converting. WAV can be much larger than the Ogg file.
