Comma-separated to tab-separated
CSV to TSV
Convert a comma-separated UTF-8 CSV into a tab-separated text file. Choose the source line ending, inspect the table, select an output line ending, then convert and download.
Use UTF-8 without a byte-order mark and unique, nonempty headers. TSV output requires single-line text fields: embedded tabs, line breaks, control characters and values beginning with =, +, - or @ after whitespace are rejected. Empty strings are supported. Types and separators are not guessed.

How to convert CSV to TSV
- Choose a comma-separated UTF-8 CSV with unique, nonempty column headers.
- Select Windows (CRLF) or Unix (LF) to match your source file, then choose Inspect CSV.
- Check the rows and columns, select the TSV output line ending and choose Convert to TSV. Incompatible fields are rejected.
- Download the TSV file. It uses tabs between fields and preserves the inspected text and row order.
Which CSV files can I convert?
Use UTF-8 without a byte-order mark, comma separators and consistent LF or CRLF records. Headers must be unique and nonempty, and rows must have the same number of columns. Quoted commas and literal quotes are supported. File, row and cell limits appear above.
What cannot go into the TSV output?
TSV output requires text fields without embedded tabs, line breaks or control characters. Values beginning with =, +, - or @ after whitespace are rejected. Empty strings are supported. CSV quoting cannot make an incompatible field safe for this TSV profile.
Will numbers or IDs be changed?
The converter does not infer numbers or dates. Text values and row order match the inspected CSV, including leading zeros. Spreadsheet apps may infer types when opening a TSV, so select text columns in their import options if you need to keep IDs as text.
