The first row becomes headers; empty or duplicate headers receive generated names such as Column A. Text IDs and leading zeros stay text. Numbers use stored values rather than display formatting; blank cells become empty strings. Numeric Excel dates and times become timezone-free ISO text at millisecond precision; stored ISO dates retain up to six fractional digits. Formulas use only their saved results and are not recalculated; missing cached results are rejected. Formatting and other sheets are omitted after explicit consent. Spreadsheet apps may interpret CSV values when opening the result.

How to convert XLSX to CSV

  1. Choose an XLSX with a header row and supported stored cell values. Empty or duplicate headers receive generated names.
  2. Leave the worksheet name blank for the first visible worksheet, or enter its exact name, then choose Inspect XLSX.
  3. Review and accept the listed values-only and worksheet changes, select Windows (CRLF) or Unix (LF), then choose Convert to CSV.
  4. Download the CSV. Dates use ISO text, blank cells become empty strings and formulas use saved results without recalculation.

Which worksheet and cell values are exported?

Blank worksheet selection uses the first visible worksheet. Enter an exact name to select another visible worksheet. The first row becomes headers; empty or duplicate headers receive generated names such as Column A. Supported text, numbers, booleans and dates are exported as strings; blank cells become empty strings. Text IDs retain leading zeros, while numeric display formatting is not preserved.

Are formulas recalculated and dates kept?

Formulas use only results already saved in the XLSX; no recalculation takes place, and a formula without a cached result is rejected. Saved results may be out of date. Numeric Excel dates and times become timezone-free ISO text at millisecond precision; stored ISO dates retain up to six fractional digits. Numeric formatting, such as currency symbols or a custom zero-padded number format, is not preserved.

What is omitted from the CSV?

CSV exports one selected worksheet as values-only text. Formatting, other worksheets and any listed workbook information are omitted after you accept the separate initially unchecked consent. Data-cell values and row order are retained. Spreadsheet apps may interpret numbers, dates or formula-looking text when opening CSV; import ID columns as text.
