The first row becomes headers; empty or duplicate headers receive generated names such as Column A. Text IDs retain leading zeros; numbers use stored values and blanks become empty strings. Numeric Excel dates and times become timezone-free ISO text at millisecond precision; stored ISO dates retain up to six fractional digits. Formulas use saved results without recalculation; missing results are rejected. TSV accepts whole negative numeric values. Tabs, line breaks, controls and formula-looking text such as =SUM(1,2) or a partial - expression remain blocked. Formatting and other sheets are omitted after explicit consent.

How to convert XLSX to TSV
- Choose an XLSX with a header row and stored values that fit the single-line TSV profile. Empty or duplicate headers receive generated names.
- Leave the worksheet name blank for the first visible worksheet, or enter its exact name, then choose Inspect XLSX.
- Review and accept the listed values-only and worksheet changes, select Windows (CRLF) or Unix (LF), then choose Convert to TSV.
- Download the TSV. Dates use ISO text, blanks become empty strings and formulas use saved results without recalculation.
Which worksheet and cell values can become TSV?
Blank worksheet selection uses the first visible worksheet. Enter an exact name to choose another visible worksheet. The first row becomes headers; empty or duplicate headers receive generated names such as Column A. Supported text, numbers, booleans and dates are exported as strings, while blanks become empty strings. Text IDs retain leading zeros. Every exported value must also fit the single-line TSV profile.
What does the TSV profile reject?
Whole negative numeric values are supported. Embedded tabs, line breaks, control characters and formula-looking text, such as =SUM(1,2) or a partial - expression, are rejected. Empty strings and literal quotes are supported; quotes do not provide TSV escaping. Numbers use stored values rather than display formatting.
What happens to formulas, dates and other sheets?
Formulas use saved results without recalculation; missing cached results are rejected and saved results may be stale. Numeric Excel dates and times become timezone-free ISO text at millisecond precision; stored ISO dates retain up to six fractional digits. TSV exports one selected worksheet and omits formatting, other sheets and listed workbook information after explicit consent. Spreadsheet apps can infer types when opening TSV, so import IDs as text.
