BMP to AVIF questions
Which BMP files can I convert to AVIF?
This workflow supports ordinary unsigned 8-bit RGB BMP pictures. High-bit, CMYK, animated and unqualified file variants are outside its scope. Each source image has its own output task and file; this workflow does not export animation.
What quality will my AVIF have?
AVIF output is lossy, including at high quality settings. Lossless is unavailable. RGB and alpha values can change; keep the source if identical pixels are required. Converting the format does not add missing detail or resolution.
Will transparency, colors and metadata be identical?
Review the transparency and color settings before adding the task. The target can represent transparency, but this page does not guarantee identical RGB or alpha values, full metadata or original color-profile preservation. Check the downloaded image in the receiving app.
Will all source pages or frames be exported?
Each source image has its own output task and file; this workflow does not export animation.
Will the result always be smaller or accepted by my app?
No. Compare the actual download size with your limit and confirm that the receiving app accepts AVIF. A different extension alone does not guarantee acceptance, smaller bytes or print readiness.
