GIF to BMP Converter
Choose a GIF file for BMP conversionGIF to BMP converter
BMP output is preset. For an animated GIF, choose Export first frame to create one still image. Later frames and animation timing are omitted. A single-frame GIF needs no frame selection. BMP does not preserve alpha or embedded ICC profiles here. If transparent, explicitly select Flatten transparency and choose Background. If profiled, explicitly choose Remove color profile (may change colors). No default flattening or profile-removal consent is granted; Display-P3 removal is rejected. This advertised still-image workflow does not promise animation retention or a frame-number picker. Review the choices, then Add task and Run. No task is created automatically.

GIF to BMP questions
What is saved in the BMP?
One still image. For animated GIF, explicitly choose Export first frame; a single-frame GIF needs no frame selection. This page supports ordinary unprofiled unsigned 8-bit GIF images. Unparsed embedded ICC profiles and unsupported GIF variants are outside this page's scope.
Will the BMP keep the transparent background?
No. This BMP writer does not keep alpha. Transparent input requires your explicit Flatten transparency choice and Background color.
Will animation be retained?
This advertised workflow exports one still image, omitting later frames and timing after your first-frame choice. Use GIF Frame Extraction for all frame images in a ZIP.
Will conversion recover GIF colors or detail?
No. BMP cannot recreate colors or detail that the original GIF does not contain.
Will BMP always be smaller than GIF?
No. BMP can be larger. Compare the actual saved size with the receiving app or upload limit.
