HEIC to ICO Converter
Choose a HEIC file for ICO conversionHEIC to ICO converter
ICO output is preset. Review the inspected primary image. This workflow does not export a HEIC sequence, thumbnails or every auxiliary image. Each ICO contains one square image resource. Choose 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 or 256 pixels. Keep whole square image requires a square source; a rectangle needs explicit Center square crop. Enlargement is opt-in and a smaller source may produce a smaller icon. If an ICC profile is present, explicitly choose Remove color profile (may change colors); ICO cannot retain it here. Display-P3 removal is rejected. Changing the format does not restore detail already lost in HEIC encoding. Review the choices, then Add task and Run. No task is created automatically.

HEIC to ICO questions
Which HEIC or HEIF photos are supported?
This workflow accepts supported single-primary 8-bit SDR RGB or RGBA images. High-bit/HDR images, depth information, unsupported auxiliary images and additional top-level images are not supported. This page supports supported SDR unsigned 8-bit RGB or RGBA HEIC/HEIF images with one primary image. High-bit/HDR, monochrome, multiple top-level images, depth images, unsupported auxiliary images and Display-P3 conversions are outside this page's scope.
Can a rectangular photo become an icon?
Choose Center square crop explicitly to cut the edges into a square. Keep whole square image requires a square input under this icon workflow; padding is not added automatically.
Does one ICO contain every icon size?
No. Each output contains one square resource at the chosen supported size, up to 256 pixels.
What happens to the color profile?
ICO cannot retain the embedded profile in this workflow. Supported non-P3 profiled inputs need explicit Remove color profile; Display-P3 input is excluded.
Will a small photo be enlarged automatically?
No. Enlargement starts off. Enable it explicitly if needed; enlarging does not recreate missing detail.
How to convert HEIC to ICO
1. Choose your HEIC image Upload a supported HEIC or HEIF photo and review the inspected image information. This page supports supported SDR unsigned 8-bit RGB or RGBA HEIC/HEIF images with one primary image. High-bit/HDR, monochrome, multiple top-level images, depth images, unsupported auxiliary images and Display-P3 conversions are outside this page's scope.
2. Review image selection Choose Icon size: 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 or 256. Use Keep whole square image for square input, or explicitly choose Center square crop.
3. Review ICO choices For a supported profiled photo, explicitly select Remove color profile. Enable enlargement only if you want to enlarge a smaller image.
4. Add the task, convert and download Choose Add output task, then Run. Download and review the converted image.
