Input extensions
For a form that accepts JPG up to 500 KB (500,000 bytes), use 488 KB in Target size (499,712 bytes). Choose the form's stated units below for other limits. IMAGEEE's Target size uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes.
Choose Apply to Target size compression, then Run Convert from the original HEIC. Download the JPG and check its actual bytes against the form's limit before uploading it. Target size compression may lower quality and dimensions. A target is not a guarantee that the result meets the limit or that a form accepts it.

Use the form's stated units in the calculator and choose Apply to Target size compression; a decimal 500 KB limit needs a 488 KB target. Run Convert again from the original HEIC. Check the actual output size before uploading: a very small limit or preserved HDR data can leave the result above the target. Upload the downloaded JPG, not the original HEIC.
HEIC photos can use HDR and a wider color gamut than a typical JPG viewer. Bright highlights and saturated colors may look different after conversion. Compare the downloaded JPG in the app where you will share it before converting the rest of the photos.
Use JPG for ordinary photo uploads. Use HEIC to PNG when an editor specifically needs PNG; the file may be much larger, and PNG does not recover detail missing from the original photo.

No. Renaming changes the filename, not the image format inside the file. Use Run Convert and download the newly encoded JPG so an app expecting JPEG can read it.
Yes. .jpg and .jpeg are filename extensions for the JPEG image format. This page downloads .jpg files; that is the same image format requested by most forms that ask for JPEG.
