Convert TIFF to ICO
Choose a TIFF file for ICO conversionTIFF to ICO converter
ICO output is preset. For a multi-page TIFF, explicitly select one page; the other pages are omitted. Choose Icon size: 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 or 256 pixels, with a default cap of 256. Keep whole square image requires a square source. For a rectangle, explicitly choose Center square crop; it cuts the edges. Smaller images remain smaller unless you check Enlarge smaller images to selected size. ICO cannot retain an embedded ICC profile here. If the source has one, explicitly choose Remove color profile (may change colors) before adding the task. Display-P3 profile removal and unsupported color conversions are rejected. Transparency can remain, but resizing and cropping do not promise identical RGB or alpha values. Choose Add task, then Run when ready. No task is created automatically; review loss choices before adding it.

TIFF to ICO questions
Which TIFF files can I convert to ICO?
This workflow supports unsigned 8-bit RGB or RGBA TIFF scans and photos. High-bit, CMYK, Display-P3, animated and unqualified variants are outside its scope. For a multi-page TIFF, explicitly select one page; the other pages are omitted.
Will a rectangular image be cropped automatically?
No. Keep whole square image requires a square source. Choose Center square crop explicitly for a rectangle. This workflow does not add transparent padding or create a multi-resolution ICO.
Will color profiles and metadata be kept?
ICO cannot retain an embedded ICC profile here. If the source has one, explicitly choose Remove color profile (may change colors) before adding the task. Display-P3 profile removal and unsupported color conversions are rejected. Transparency can remain, but resizing and cropping do not promise identical RGB or alpha values. Complete metadata preservation is not guaranteed; check the saved image in the receiving app.
Will all pages, frames or icon sizes be exported?
For a multi-page TIFF, explicitly select one page; the other pages are omitted. Each ICO contains one square image resource.
Will the result always be smaller or accepted by my app?
No. Check the actual download bytes and confirm that the receiving app accepts ICO. Changing the format does not add image detail or resolution. A different extension alone does not guarantee acceptance or print readiness.
How to convert TIFF to ICO

3. Review color and transparency choices ICO cannot retain an embedded ICC profile here. If the source has one, explicitly choose Remove color profile (may change colors) before adding the task. For a multi-page TIFF, explicitly select one page; the other pages are omitted. Review metadata settings before adding the task.
4. Add the task, convert and download Choose Add task, then Run and download the ICO. Check the actual result, file size and receiving app's requirements. Changing the format does not add image detail or resolution.
